  15. This release note discusses some known issues with regards to the use of
  16. Connections for Windows 2000 S-Series, C-Series, and Other.

  21. Installation 
  22. ==========================================================================

  24. Upgrading from previous versions of Connections for Windows NT
  25.  
  26. Upgrading Connections for Windows 2000 from previous versions of
  27. Connections for Windows NT is not supported in this release.

  29. Installing the WAN Miniport drivers and Routing Services.
  30.  
  31. In Windows 2000, Eicon WAN Miniport drivers and Routing Services
  32. are installed using the "Add New Hardware" Wizard.

  35. Installing an EiconCard C3X

  37. C3X cards are not supported in this release.

  55. Using WAN Miniport

  60. Customers who are experiencing problems using ISDN WAN Miniport for PPP
  61. connections with the Spanish PTT's IP network (Infovia) should contact
  62. Eicon Technology for an update.

  64. X.25 WAN Miniport
  65.  
  66. Customers who wish to use the X.25 WAN Miniport and any other Eicon or
  67. third-party application, on the same port, should contact Eicon
  68. Technology for an update of the WAN Miniport driver.
  69.  
  70. Customers wishing to use more than 16 channels should contact Eicon
  71. Technology for an update of the WAN Miniport driver.
  72.  
  73. Customers must make sure to disable the Auto Activate feature in the Eicon Configuration
  74. Program when using the WAN Miniport.

  76. IPXCP Support with DIVA WAN Miniport
  77.  
  78. IPXCP is not supported when connecting to a Connections for Windows NT
  79. Router using DIVA WAN Miniport on a Windows 95 workstation.

  83. Using PPP Connections
  84. ==========================================================================

  86. Consider the following issues if you use PPP connections.

  88. When configuring your PPP connection, keep in mind that the  "Request IP Address" option
  89. is not available in this release.

  92. Using Dynamic PPP
  93.  
  94. If you are using Dynamic PPP, make sure all of your connections are
  95. configured for auto-start.

  97. Using PAP and CHAP authentication
  98.  
  99. Be aware of the following when using PAP and CHAP authentication:
  100.  
  101. o  PAP and CHAP negotiation are enabled by default.
  102.  
  103. o  If you are using CHAP authentication, the PPP local password is used
  104.    as your CHAP Secret. If you are using PAP authentication, the PPP
  105.    local password is used as your PAP local password.
  106.  
  107. o  If you are connecting two Eicon Routers, only CHAP authentication is
  108.    negotiated.

  111. Eicon XPAD driver
  112. =========================================================================
  113.  
  114. The Eicon XPAD driver is not available in this release.  Please contact Eicon Technology
  115. for software updates.

  119. Miscellaneous
  120. ==========================================================================
  121.  
  122. The following issues should also be considered when using Connections
  123. for Windows 2000 S-Series, C-Series, and Other.
  124.  
  125. Available Sessions
  126.  
  127. If you have used the maximum number of X.25 sessions for a port and you
  128. wish to enable a trace for the port, you must first close one of the
  129. open sessions. This is necessary because the trace needs to use a
  130. session. 
  131.  
  132. Using Hayes AT modems
  133.  
  134. There is currently no support for the use of Hayes AT modems with the
  135. EiconCards S64, S90, S91, and S94.
  136.  
  137. Using FM1 Encoding
  138.  
  139. You may encounter problems when using FM1 encoding.
  140.  
  141. Segmentation Support on Frame Relay Connections
  142.  
  143. Connections for Windows NT S-series, C-series, and Other does not
  144. support segmentation on Frame Relay connections.
  145.  
  146. Using Microsoft SNA Server 3.0 Service Pack 1
  147.  
  148. If you wish to use Microsoft SNA Server 3.0 Service Pack 1, make sure
  149. you install it before you configure the Eicon SNA Server Link Drivers.
  150.  
  151. Multilink Support with the DIVA Client
  152.  
  153. Multilink is not supported when connecting to a Connections for Windows
  154. NT Router using the DIVA Client on a Windows NT workstation.
  155.  
  156. Using Compression with Ascend Routers
  157.  
  158. In order to connect to an Ascend Router using compression, you must
  159. specify Auto as the type of compression.
  160.  
  161. SNMP Support for EiconCards 
  162.  
  163. SNMP support is not included in this release.  Contact Eicon Technology for updated
  164. software.
